My Happy Wall

A very ugly, rotting, smelling like mold for blocks building was torn down a while ago on the corner by work to reveal this :

A still very, but not AS ugly, sort of endearing building with a happy wall had been hiding for years!

I decided I liked it.  I liked that someone went to the effort to paint all these bricks.  I am confused as to WHY though…but who cares.  Every morning, I walked by this mostly ugly building and was happy.  And that’s what matters.

I’ve beeb a TV On The Radio fan for a while.  I saw them many years ago in concert, they were so wonderfully mellow with a hint of edge, and that hasn’t changed.  They just keep getting more visionary over time while maintaining the edgy mellowness.

Its Limerick Day, Dummies.

OH and PS. It’s LIMERICK DAY.

what the what?  WELL…

“Limerick Day celebrates the birthday of Writer Edward Lear (1812-1888).  It also, of course, celebrates Limerick poems. Limericks were popularized by Lear in 1846 in his Book of Nonsense” – from holidayinsights.com

what the what is a Limerick?  WELL…

“a kind of humorous verse of five lines, in which the first, second, and fifth lines rhyme with each other and the third and fourth lines, which are shorter, form a rhymed couplet” - dictionary.com

With me now?  I thought so!  Although I doubt you know the real version, but a wild one full of tales of Ribaldry (remember all those Lovitz sketches?)  What’s Ribaldry?…Google it, I’m getting tired of this…

There once was a girl you met from the internet
She had some spare time as she owned no pet
So she explains things to you
Not something she would normally do
Because for the afterlife she wanted to be set

So there ya go!  Celebrate this fine day!  Write a short poem or even 2!
