Photography.
Photography is a ever burning love of mine.
It started with being unsatisfied with playing around with my point and shoot. Then it quickly developed into scouring over photography sites once a week. Then it was time to get my own SLR. Then it was time to get serious about working on the craft and start seriously learning about how to become a better photographer.
Now I’m rocking an SLR with a couple lenses (NIKON all the way!) and tripods. I have some classes (Revival Arts) and one on one tips and tricks learning from my good friend and über talented photographer (Tanis Katie) under my belt. I’m slowly teaching myself a few different editing programs (Photoshop, Lightroom), and spend hours each day pouring over photography blogs. I’m just so in love with it all.
That being said, I still have so much to learn. So so much! I love taking photographs of anything and everything, inanimate, living, it’s all fair game to me. When I take out my camera and start shooting, it’s for the love of the art.
And that is why I share the photographs I take on this blog. For the love of it. Not because I am trying to appear as a professional by any means. Quite the contrary. I believe that anyone who is claiming to be a professional should be wise and learned and be continually looking to learn and perfect their art form, no matter what it may be. I will save my thoughts for all those people who buy an SLR and decide to become a “photographer” for another day…
Posts that I have tagged as “forever.photos” are simply to track progress and discern for readers between photos that I have taken for the purpose of flexing my ever growing photographic skills and pictures that I have just taken whilly nilly. I just want to capture as many moments as I can in this lifetime! No prerogatives.
That being said, I am always in dire need of subjects to practice shooting. So, if you are bored and want some slightly more than mediocre pictures, or have a recommendation of something that I might want to check out, please let me know!
